(Monday, July 20, 1959)“Little Girl” by Ritchie Valens, who was killed in a plane crash on Feb. 3, 1959, “The Day The Music Died,” at age 17 near Clear Lake, Iowa, along with Buddy Holly and J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, peaked at #92 on today’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for one week.

It was Valen’s fifth and final appearance on the chart (1958-1959).
