Lennon, Ono conclude filming for BBC’s ’24 Hours’ documentary 50 years ago #OnThisDay #OTD (Dec 6 1969)

(Saturday, December 6, 1969) — John Lennon of The Beatles and his wife, Yoko Ono, were filmed again today for the BBC1 documentary 24 Hours: The World of John and Yoko, presented Dec. 15 1969, at 10:30 p.m. by David Dimbleby.

The final day of a five-day shoot began as the couple were filmed drinking tea in bed at the Bull Hotel in Long Melford, in Suffolk, England.

Later, they traveled to Lavenham to make the film Apotheosis 2 in the early evening.

Lennon and Ono were captured huddling together waiting for the balloon to ascend. In some shots they wore an enormous black cape, but in others they were without it.
