(Monday, December 17, 1979, 7:30 p.m. GMT; during the Wings UK Tour 1979) — Former Beatle Paul McCartney and his band Wings performed the second of two shows tonight at The Apollo in Glasgow, Scotland, the final date of the group’s 19-date tour of the United Kingdom to promote their recent album, Back to the Egg.

A recording of “Coming Up” from tonight’s show was released as a single in April 1980, taking the A-side of the song in the United States and becoming a number one hit.

Tonight’s performance turned out to be the final show of Wings’ final concert tour, but they would perform one more show together in London on Dec. 29, 1979, a part of “Concerts for the People of Kampuchea.”
