(Thursday, February 26, 1970) — The album Hey Jude, a collection of non-album singles and B-sides by The Beatles, was released today in the U.S. (May 11, 1979, in the UK) by Apple Records.

The Hey Jude album was conceived by the band’s business manager, Allen Klein, and the band’s record label, Apple Records.

Klein authorised the release of the album as a sales buffer during post-production of the delayed Let It Be album.
