(Saturday, May 16, 1970)Sentimental Journey, the debut solo album by ex-Beatle Ringo Starr, debuted at #51 on today’s Billboard Top LP’s chart.

Starr started recording the album, released Apr. 24, 1970, in the U.S., following John Lennon’s private announcement in September 1969 that he was leaving The Beatles.

By coincidence, In the Beginning (Circa 1960), the first consolidated American packaging of the 1962 German album by Tony Sheridan and the Beatles (credited as the Beat Brothers), called My Bonnie, debuted on the chart at #145.
