(Saturday, June 27, 1970, scheduled to open at noon EDT)Festival Express, a train tour across Canada taken by some of North America’s most popular rock bands, including Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band, Buddy Guy, Flying Burrito Bros, Ian & Sylvia’s Great Speckled Bird and Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, began today at CNE Stadium in Toronto.

The tour also stopped in Winnipeg before it wrapped up in Calgary on July 5, 1970.
