(Friday, September 25, 1970)Beaucoups of Blues, the second solo studio album by former Beatle Ringo Starr, was released today in the UK (Sep. 28, 1970 in the U.S.).

The album, Starr’s first since the public break-up of The Beatles, was very far removed in style from his pop-based debut solo LP, Sentimental Journey, relying on country and western influences. A longtime fan of the genre, Starr recorded the album over three days (June 25-27, 1970) in Nashville with producer Pete Drake.
