(Friday, February 19, 1971) — Former Beatle Paul McCartney released his first solo single, “Another Day”/“Oh Woman, Oh Why,” today in the UK (Feb. 22, 1971, in the U.S.).

“Another Day” was the first of many songs taped in New York City at Columbia Studios during sessions for Paul and Linda McCartney’s Ram, his second album since the break-up of The Beatles.
