(Monday, April 27, 1981) — Ringo Starr, 40, married actress Barbara Bach, 33, today in London with Paul McCartney and George Harrison (and their respective spouses) in attendance, reuniting all three surviving ex-members of The Beatles less than five months after the assassination of the fourth former member of the group, John Lennon.

Some 350 fans screamed and shouted — one even fainted — as the 15-member wedding party rolled up to the Marylebone Register Office in a fleet of black taxi cabs.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rags, a West End club, included a jam featuring Harrison on guitar McCartney at a piano and Starr playing metal buckets, but sadly, no one was there with a tape recorder.

Starr met Bach in February 1980 on the set of the film Caveman.
