(Tuesday, May 25, 1971) — Former Beatle John Lennon tracked 5 takes (1 complete) of “Gimme Some Truth,” 42 takes (7 complete) of “How?” and one take of “Oh Yoko!today at Ascot Sound Studios, his home recording facility at Tittenhurst Park near Ascot in Berkshire.

The tracks were recorded for Lennon’s second studio album, Imagine, which would be released Sept. 7, 1971, in the U.S. and Oct. 8, 1971 in the UK.

Lennon would add his final lead vocal for “Gimme Some Truth” at Ascot on May 28, 1971, and overdub another bass part at Record Plant East in New York City on July 4, 1971.

Lennon would add his final lead vocal for “How?” at Ascot on May 29, 1971, and overdub the string arrangement at Record Plant East in New York City on July 4, 1971.
