(Friday, October 8, 1971, around 2:00 p.m. EDT) — Former Beatle John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, held a news conference this afternoon at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, to promote Ono’s retrospective exhibition, This Is Not Here, which was due to open to the public October 9, 1971, and will run until October 27, 1971.

The couple chartered a plane to carry an assortment of 65 critics, journalists and members of the avant-garde circle from New York City to Syracuse to preview the show.

Besides Ono’s pieces, a number of celebrities contributed exhibits to be put on display. Former Beatle Ringo Starr sent a green plastic bag, the size of two pillows, that looked as if it is filled with green water.

Former Beatle George Harrison’s piece, entitled Milk Bottle, was listed in the show’s catalog but failed to be put on display. Lennon’s piece was a strange pink mass inside a plastic bag, curiously called Napoleon’s Bladder.
