(Tuesday, December 14, 1971) — James Bond impersonates a diamond smuggler to infiltrate a smuggling ring, and soon uncovers a plot by his old nemesis Blofeld to use the diamonds and build a giant laser in Diamonds Are Forever, the seventh in the James Bond spy film series produced by Eon Productions, which opened today in Munich, West Germany.

Directed by Guy Hamilton, it was also the sixth and final Eon Productions film to star Sean Connery as the fictional MI6 agent. The film also starred Jill St. John, Charles Gray, Lana Wood, Jimmy Dean and Bruce Cabot.
