In a verdict handed down almost 10 hours after the case went to the jury in the Marion County superior court, Tyson, 25, was found guilty on one count of rape and two counts of criminal deviate conduct.

On March 26, 1992, Tyson would be sentenced to six years in prison along with four years of probation. He would be assigned to the Indiana Youth Center (now the Plainfield Correctional Facility) in April 1992, and released in March 1995 after serving less than three years of the sentence.

Due to his conviction, Tyson is required to register as a Tier II sex offender under federal law.
