(Friday, February 25, 1972) — Former Beatle Ringo Starr and his wife, Maureen, arrived today at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Hungary, one of several celebrities in town for the 40th birthday party of actress Elizabeth Taylor to be held Feb. 26-27, 1972, at the Hotel Duna InterContinenta.

Among those joining Starr on a direct flight from Heathrow Airport in London were actor Michael Caine, actress Suzannah York, Miss Taylor’s daughter, Liza Todd, and members of Richard Burton’s family. None would reveal their birthday gifts.

Princess Grace of Monaco, Baron and Baroness Guy de Rothschild of Paris, David Niven, Sammy Davis Jr., and Marlon Brando will also be among the 150 or so guests at the party.

Miss Taylor is in Hungary with her husband, actor Richard Burton, who has the title role in Bluebeard, a film being shot at Budapest Film Co. studios.
