(Monday, March 27, 1972) — Former Beatle Paul McCartney and his British–American rock band, Wings, recorded “Mary Had a Little Lambtoday at Olympic Sound Studios in London, during sessions for what would become the group’s next studio album, Red Rose Speedway.

The track would be mixed this month and then released as a single on May 12, 1972, in the UK (May 29, 1972, in the U.S.) and not released on the original issue of Red Rose Speedway until 2018 when a deluxe version of the album was released as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.
