(Sunday, April 30, 1972, following the 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. CET scheduled start time for opening acts Gary Wright and Wonderwheel, Sutherford Brothers and Claire Hamil) — Nine months and 27 days after lead singer Jim Morrison was found dead in a bathtub in Paris, the surviving members of the American rock group The Doors — keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore — performed two shows today at Pavillon Montreux in Montreux, Switzerland, during the 12th Rose d’Or Festival.

Today’s first show was captured for a Sept. 16, 1972, television broadcast of Pop Hot.

Today’s concerts were the fourth and fifth shows of what turned out to be the band’s final tour of Europe, which began Apr. 27, 1972, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and concluded on May 14, 1972, in Guildford, England.
