(Monday, May 1, 1972) — Nine months and 28 days after lead singer Jim Morrison was found dead in a bathtub in Paris, the surviving members of the American rock group The Doors — keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore — returned to the ‘City of Light’ to perform tonight at the Olympia.

Tonight’s performance was the sixth show of what turned out to be the band’s final tour of Europe, which began Apr. 27, 1972, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and concluded on May 14, 1972, in Guildford, England.
