(Monday, June 11, 1962, 8:45-9:30 p.m. British Summer Time) — The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Pete Best) recorded their second BBC radio appearance tonight at Playhouse Theater in Manchester, performing “Ask Me Why” (the first Lennon-McCartney original composition played on BBC radio), “Besame Mucho,” and “A Picture Of You.”

Broadcast June 15, 1962, at 5:00-5:30 p.m. for the BBC Light Programme Teenager’s Turn–Here We Go, it is the last known Beatles recording with Pete Best on drums before he was fired on Aug. 16, 1962, and replaced two days later by Ringo Starr.
