(Thursday, July 15, 1982, evening PDT)A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy, an American sex comedy film about a wacky inventor and his wife who invite two other couples for a weekend party at a romantic summer house in the 1900s countryside, premiered tonight at the Mann Regent theater in Los Angeles.

Written, directed by, and starring Woody Allen, the film also stars Mia Farrow (in the first of 13 Allen movies, from 1982 to 1992), José Ferrer, Julie Hagerty, Tony Roberts, Mary Steenburgen, and Adam Redfield.

The film received moderately positive reviews but was nominated for one Razzie Award: Worst Actress, for Farrow – the only time a Woody Allen film has been nominated for a Razzie.
