(Friday July 21, 1972, following the 8:00 p.m. CDT scheduled start time for opening acts Dr. John, the Night Tripper and Phlorescent Leech & Eddie) — Two years and 18 days after lead singer Jim Morrison was found dead in a bathtub in Paris, the surviving members of the American rock group The Doors — keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore — performed tonight at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.

It was the band’s first performance after the release of Full Circle, the group’s eighth studio album. Tonight’s show was recorded for broadcast on WGLD-FM on Nov. 8, 1972.
