(Tuesday, August 22, 1972) — Two years and 50 days after lead singer Jim Morrison was found dead in a bathtub in Paris, the surviving members of the American rock group The Doors — keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore — performed today at the Elysee Theater at 202 West 58th Street in New York City for the Friday, Aug. 25, 1972, edition of the ABC-TV late-night talk show ‘The Dick Cavett Show.’

Actual footage or videotape from this performance has never surfaced, however, an audio recording is known and features “The Mosquito” and Good Rockin.'”

It would be the group’s last known performance for a television program.
