(Saturday, November 25, 1972) — Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and members of his new British-American group, Wings, filmed videos for their next double-A sided single “Hi Hi Hi” and “C Moontoday at Southern TV Studios in Northam, England.

Directed by Steve Turner, best remembered for his work on the award-winning BBC2 late-night 1968/1969 music show Colour Me Pop, these straightforward performance films feature the group miming on a low three-step stage.

Though shot on tape, the clips were subsequently transferred onto 16mm film for distribution to television, not yet utilizing the convenient videotape process.

McCartney oversees the tape-to-film transferring process immediately after shooting and leaves the Southern ITV studios later this evening clutching the 16mm film masters.

‘Hi Hi Hi’ would first air in the UK on the ITV TV program Russell Harty Plus on Dec. 16, 1972.
