(Friday, May 18, 1973, approximately 9:50 p.m. following the 8:30 p.m. British Summer Time scheduled start time for opening act English pub rock band Brinsley Schwarz; during the Wings 1973 UK Tour) — Paul McCartney’s British-American band, Wings performed the second of two shows tonight at Liverpool Empire Theatre in his hometown of Liverpool, England, on the sixth stop (and seventh show) of the band’s 16-city, 21-show tour of the United Kingdom.

With two legs through July 10, 1973, the tour was McCartney’s second tour of Great Britain since The Beatles toured the United Kingdom in December 1965.

Unlike the surprise appearances of the previous year’s Wings University Tour and the spontaneous nature of the follow-up Wings Over Europe Tour, here the tour was announced in a more normal fashion and fans could buy tickets ahead of time.
