(Saturday, May 27, 1973, approximately 9:30 p.m. British Summer Time, following the 8:00 p.m. BST scheduled start time for opening act English pub rock band Brinsley Schwarz; during the Wings 1973 UK Tour) — Paul McCartney’s British-American band Wings performed the third of three shows tonight at Hammersmith Odeon in London, on the 12th stop (and 17th show) of the band’s 16-city, 21-show tour of the United Kingdom.

This performance marked the end of the first leg of the tour. The second leg would begin July 4 in Sheffield.

The tour was McCartney’s second tour of Great Britain since The Beatles toured the United Kingdom in December 1965.

Unlike the surprise appearances of the previous year’s Wings University Tour and the spontaneous nature of the follow-up Wings Over Europe Tour, here the tour was announced in a more normal fashion and fans could buy tickets ahead of time.
