(Thursday, August 8, 1963) — The Beatles were filmed today boarding a 12-seater aeroplane on Jersey for the 30-mile journey to Guernsey, separate islands in the English Channel off the northwest coast of France.

The group would perform two shows (at 7:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. British Summer Time) in the auditorium at Candie Gardens, in St Peter Port, Guernsey, their only ones on the island, and were promoted by Baron Pontin.

The following day, Aug. 9, 1963, The Beatles would return to Jersey for two more nights of shows at the Springfield Ballroom on Janvrin Road in the parish of St Saviour.
