(Monday, February 17, 1964) — The day after their second Ed Sullivan Show appearance, The Beatles enjoyed a well-earned day off in Miami, in which they tried water-skiing.

According to Getty, John Lennon was photographed on this day wearing a grass and straw bonnet and a white shirt, which matches a home movie that surfaced in 1995. The home movie also includes a shot of Ringo Starr.

Murray the K, who had been stay with the group a few days, most likely leaving today, the seventeenth, the day the Beatles were originally scheduled to return to New York, had conducted several interviews since arriving on Feb. 13, many of which would appear on the EP The Beatles & Murray the K: As It Happened, released in 1965.
