(Tuesday, February 25, 1964, 2:30-5:30 p.m. GMT) — The Beatles recorded two takes of “And I Love Herthis afternoon at EMI Studio 2 in London for the band’s forthcoming film and album, A Hard Day’s Night.

The song was much different from what we’ve come to know, being that they envisioned it in their usual guitar/ bass/ drums format. although considered finished at that time, it did not contain the bridge, only verses and a guitar solo section before the last verse.

It didn’t even have a suitable ending worked out at this point.

Take 1 was incomplete, but Take 2 was complete. However, the Beatles decided a lighter touch was required.

Take 2 was eventually released on Anthology 1 in 1995. This version was missing the middle-eight.
