(Friday, April 3, 1964) — After spending seven days filming at London’s Scala Theatre, The Beatles returned to Twickenham Film Studios today to film a cinema trailer for A Hard Day’s Night.

John Lennon and George Harrison were filmed sitting in a baby pram, and Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr in another.

In between the two prams a sign stated: “You may telephone from here.”

In a bizarre sequence, Lennon wrote messages on a typewriter, McCartney spoke into a microphone, and Harrison mumbled. Starr twice answered a telephone, handing it to Lennon and stating “It’s for you,” to which Lennon replied: “Don’t be soft.”
