(Tuesday, July 7, 1964, 5:30-6:00 p.m. BST) — After recording an appearance on the BBC television show Top Of The Pops at Lime Grove Studios in London was complete, The Beatles were driven to Television House, the central London studio run by the Rediffusion company, where they recorded an interview today for Scene At 6.30, which was shown at 6:30 p.m. BST.

Ringo, who was celebrating his 24th birthday, says the only unusual present he’s gotten this year is a ring from a bull’s nose; Paul is asked about the racehorse, Drake’s Drum, he bought for his father (whose birthday it also was); George says the film premiere in London the previous night went great; John says the “next big event” will be the premiere in Liverpool on July 10, 1964.
