Video: 'A Night at the Opera' trailer
(Friday, December 6, 1935, doors scheduled to open at 10:15 a.m. EST) — A Night at the Opera, a comedy film about three zanies who turn an operatic performance into chaos in their efforts to promote their protege’s romance with the leading lady, opened today at the Capitol Theatre, 1645 Broadway, just north of Times Square in New York City, across from the Winter Garden Theatre.
The film actually had premiered on Nov. 1, 1935, in Baltimore and St. Louis.
Directed by Sam Wood, the film starred Groucho Marx, Chico Marx, Harpo Marx, Kitty Carlisle, Allan Jones and Margaret Dumont.
