(Sunday, March 28, 1976, 7:00 p.m. EST) — Genesis performed its first American gig tonight at Century Theatre in Buffalo, New York, with drummer Phil Collins as the band’s new lead vocalist.

Genesis had auditioned more than 400 singers to replace Peter Gabriel, who left the band to pursue a solo career.
