(Friday, April 30, 1976, 3:00 a.m. CDT) — While in Memphis on tour, singer Bruce Springsteen paid a visit to Elvis Presley’s Graceland home this morning, climbing over the wall and running to the front door.

Springsteen was intercepted by security, told that Presley was out of town (Presley was in Stateline, Nevada, opening a two-week engagement at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel’s High Sierra Theater) and escorted off the property.
