(Thursday, June 15, 1916, 11:53 p.m. CST) — President Woodrow Wilson of New Jersey was nominated for a second term by acclamation today at the 1916 Democratic National Convention meeting at St. Louis Coliseum in St. Louis.

Two minutes later, at 11:55 p.m., the delegates nominated Vice President Thomas R. Marshall of Indiana for a second term, also by acclamation.

Wilson and Marshall, the first Democratic ticket to be nominated for a second term since 1840, would oppose Republican nominees Charles Evans Hughes and Charles W. Fairbanks in the 1916 United States presidential election.
