(Tuesday, July 26, 1966, 1:00-3:00 p.m./3:30-7:30 p.m. PDT) — The Monkees recorded “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone” (lead and backing vocals recorded at a “later” date, possibly July 27, 1966) and “Tomorrow’s Gonna Be Another Day” (vocals overdubbed “sometime later this week,” possibly July 27, 1966) today at Western Recorders Studio #1 in Hollywood.

“Tomorrow’s Gonna Be Another Day” would be released on the band’s debut studio album, The Monkees, on Oct. 10, 1966.
“(I’m Your) Steppin’ Stone” was released as the B-side to the band’s single on Nov. 12, 1966, and would be included on their second studio album, More Of The Monkees, released Jan. 9, 1967.
