(Saturday, July 30, 1966, ‘Youth Premiere’ scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CDT) — Batman, a superhero film based on the Batman television series, and the first full-length theatrical adaptation of the DC Comics character Batman, premiered today at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas.

Directed by Leslie H. Martinson, the film starred Adam West, Burt Ward, Lee Meriwether, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin.
