Video: 'Lenny Bruce'

(Wednesday, August 3, 1966, about 5:30 p.m. PDT) — The body of Lenny Bruce, 40, the controversial nightclub comedian whose raunchy brand of satire and dark humor landed him in trouble with the law, was found tonight in his home on Hollywood Boulevard.

The official cause of death was “acute morphine poisoning caused by an overdose.”
