(Friday, August 5, 1966) — Revolver, the seventh studio album by British rock group the Beatles, was released today in the UK.

The North American version of the album, the 12th by the group in the U.S., was released three days later (Aug. 8, 1966) by Capitol Records, but without three songs that had already appeared on the U.S. version of Yesterday and Today.
