Video: 'Light My Fire (2017 Remaster)'

(Friday, September 23, 1966, 7:00-10:00 p.m. PDT) — The Doors (Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore) completed the recording of “Light My Fire” for their debut album today at Sunset Sound Recorders, 6650 Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood.

The session marked the completion of the recording phase of the band’s debut studio album, The Doors.

In late October 1966, The Doors would head to New York for mixing sessions at Elektra’s East Coast studio while performing as house band at Ondine, 308 E. 59th Street in Manhattan (Oct. 24, 1966 and Nov. 1-27, 1966, except on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 1966).
