(Wednesday, August 14, 1968, 7:00 p.m.-4:30 a.m. BST; during sessions for The Beatles, also known as “The White Album”) — The Beatles recorded John Lennon’s “What’s the New Mary Jane” tonight at EMI Studio 2 in London, recording four takes.

The track eventually failed to win a place on the White Album but was finally released in 1996 on the Anthology 3 album.
