(Monday, August 26, 1968) — The single “Hey Jude”/“Revolution” by The Beatles was released today in the U.S. (Aug. 30, 1968, in the UK).

It was one of four singles issued simultaneously to launch the band’s new record label Apple Records – the others being “Those Were The Days” by Mary Hopkin, “Sour Milk Sea” by Jackie Lomax and “Thingumybob” by The Black Dyke Mills Brass Band.
