(Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 8:29 p.m. MDT; during the 2008 Democratic National Convention) — Senator Joe Biden of Delaware accepted the Democratic vice presidential nomination tonight at the Pepsi Center in Denver, declaring that the challenges America faces require “more than a good soldier” in the White House, hailing Senator Barack Obama of Illinois as a wise leader who can deliver the change the nation needs.

Biden was nominated by acclamation earlier tonight on the ticket with Obama, who would accept the Democratic presidential nomination on the following evening (Aug. 28, 2008).
