(Saturday, October 1, 1988) — Former Beatle George Harrison was honored tonight at a party at Shepperton Film Studios in London to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Handmade Films.

HandMade Films was formed by Harrison and business partner Denis O’Brien in 1978 to finance the Monty Python film Life of Brian.

A film of tonight’s event included Harrison’s speech and a musical performance of “Honey Don’t” and “That’s Alright (Mama),” with Carl Perkins and Joe Brown and was featured as a 50-minute Granada ITV special entitled The Movie Life Of George, transmitted across the ITV network on Jan. 8, 1989.
