(Thursday, July 24, 1969, 2:30 -3:30 p.m. BST; during sessions for Abbey Road) — Paul McCartney of The Beatles today recorded a demo of his song “Come and Get It” at EMI Studio 2 in London for the group The Iveys, who later became Badfinger, recording piano, live vocals, bass guitar and drums with fellow Beatle John Lennon present in the studio control room.

Also around this date, George Harrison and McCartney were interviewed by Kenny Everett at EMI Studios for broadcast on BBC Radio 1’s Everett Is Here program, aired July 26 and Sept. 13, 1969.
