It was the band’s record 19th of 20 number one hits on the chart (1964-1970).

It was also The Beatles’ last single released before the song’s co-writer and lead singer, Paul McCartney, announced his departure from the band on Apr. 10, 1970.

Rolling Stone ranked the track at number 20 on its “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list.
