(Sunday, April 13, 1980) — Former Beatle John Lennon, using his newly acquired video camera to record his day-to-day activities, was taped having lunch today at Cannon Hill, his family’s secluded, sprawling mansion overlooking Cold Spring Harbor on New York’s Long Island.

At some point today, Lennon also rode out on Route 110 to buy his wife, Yoko Ono, some flowers. During the journey, Lennon reportedly heard former Beatle Paul McCartney’s “Coming Up ” — released just two days before as a single — for the first time on the car radio, which Lennon would later publicly call “a good piece of work.”
