(Thursday, October 29, 1970; during sessions for Ram) — Paul McCartney today recorded “Sunshine Sometime” at Columbia’s Studio B at 49 East 52nd Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, during sessions for Ram, his second album without The Beatles.

“Sunshine Sometime” was mixed Nov. 2, 1970, and did not appear on the original release of Ram, but was released as part of a deluxe version of the album in 2012 as “Earliest Mix.”

McCartney would add lead, backing vocals and other overdubs to the track on July 5, 1978, for the proposed Rupert The Bear animated film soundtrack, but that version was never officially released.

The basic tracks for the Ram album, officially credited to Paul and Linda McCartney (McCartney’s wife), were taped through Nov. 20, 1970, with overdubs and mixing completed by May 1971.
