(Saturday, January 2, 1971)All Things Must Pass, the third solo studio album by George Harrison and his first since the public break-up of The Beatles, peaked at #1 on today’s Billboard Top LP’s chart for seven consecutive weeks (Jan. 2/9/16/23/30, Feb. 6/13, 1971).

Released as a triple album, it reflects the influence of Harrison’s musical activities with artists such as Bob Dylan, the Band, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends and Billy Preston during 1968–70, and his growth as an artist beyond his supporting role to former bandmates John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Rolling Stone placed the LP 433rd on the magazine’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.”
