Additional horns for Ringo Starr’s ‘Devil Woman’ and ‘Have You Seen My Baby’ are overdubbed in Los Angeles 50 years ago this hour #OnThisDay (Jul 11 1973)

(Wednesday, July 11, 1973, 7:00-11:30 p.m. PDT) –Additional horns for Ringo Starr’s “Devil Woman” were overdubbed today at Producer’s Workshop in Los Angeles for the former Beatle’s first solo rock album Ringo.

Written by Starr and Vini Poncia, the track was recorded March 8, 1973, and horn overdubs were taped at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles on May 12, 1973.

Additional horns were overdubbed tonight for the album, which would be released Oct. 29, 1973 in the US (Nov. 9, 1973, in the UK).

Additional horns were overdubbed at tonight’s session for “Have You Seen My Baby,” the first song tracked for the album on March 5, 1973.

Horn overdubs were taped at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles on May 15, 1973, and additional horns were added tonight.
