(Sunday, January 15, 1964, 5:00 p.m. GMT) — Ringo Starr of The Beatles departed London Airport this afternoon to join the other members of his band, who flew to Paris the previous day.

Starr had been temporarily grounded in fog-bound Liverpool the day before and wasn’t able to join his fellow band members for the trip from London to Paris.

Starr joined the rest of the group today, in time for their warm-up show at the Cinema Cyrano in Versailles, Paris.

Earlier this afternoon, before Starr arrived in Paris, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison walked down the Champs-Élysées with members of the British press.

A number of sightseers spotted them, and the group soon retreated back to the George V hotel.
