Video: 'The King and I' trailer

(Thursday, June 28, 1956, gala premiere scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT) — The King and I, a musical film about the king of Siam who clashes with the British governess hired to teach his children, premiered tonight at the Roxy Theatre at 153 West 50th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, just off Times Square in New York City.

Directed by Walter Lang, the film starred Deborah Kerr, Yul Brynner, Rita Moreno, Maureen Hingert, Martin Benson and Rex Thompson.
